Miles of lush vineyards, bathed in the warm, yellow light that Tuscany is famous for. Throw in a medieval castle in the heart of the Chianti Region and a relaxed, peasant culture, and you find yourself in Gaiole. Forbes magazine has named the little town the most idyllic European place to live in 2008. I think that is an understatement.

Montana is one of those random places that I really want to visit, and to motivate myself to plan, I’m featuring it as this week’s mental vacation.

After watching Pride and Prejudice this weekend with my girlfriends, my mind keeps wandering to the lush moors of the English countryside.

In honor of the upcoming book launch by author and famed primatologist, Dr. Jane Goodall, today I’m escaping to the wilds of the Gombe in Africa.

Today’s mental vacation takes us to Whistler. Located in the Canadian Coastal Mountain range of British Columbia, Whistler is known as THE destination for winter sports. Like most ski resorts though, Whistler is equally desirable in the warm months.

Woke up for an early run this morning and witnessed a pretty Manhattan sunrise over midtown.  Definately did not compare to the one a few years back I snapped from the Intercoastal Waterway.  The pelican seemed to enjoy the view as well, perched on marker 27, near Stuart, Florida.
